Curriculum

Children’s Academy of Northlake uses Pinnacle Curriculum for the toddler aged child. For preschool, we use Creative Curriculum. We believe each curriculum has developmentally appropriate and engaging activities for each age group. The classroom lessons are specifically designed to help your child establish the educational foundation they need for future academic success.

Toddler Curriculum

Pinnacle® Curriculum is a research-based early childhood curriculum, designed with both teachers and young students in mind.  Based on the early works of Piaget, Gardner, and Erikson, it provides teachers and the children with lessons that engage early learners in developmentally appropriate activities.  Published in an easy-to-use, reusable format, lesson plan guides, activity enrichment’s, and long range goals are linked to key standards.

Pinnacle® provides hands-on center-based activities that promote the growth of emerging skills in all developmental areas.  The curriculum was designed to provide a research-based educational foundation. It facilitates learning in all domains (social, emotional, cognitive and physical development) where interests are linked to key standards which will foster your child’s natural curiosity about the world around them.

Our committed teachers are provided with ongoing curriculum support through professional online training through the company that developed this well regarded curriculum, Child Care Education Institute.  Every child is gently guided to reach their maximum potential. Small and large group activities promote the development of emerging skills under a watchful and loving eye.

Our toddlers learn basic skills to become happy, productive and caring individuals. Through the use of this curriculum and support of our teachers, children learn empathy, acceptance and the celebration of differences.  Two and three year olds learn to express feelings and manage conflict resolution.  Being a part of a supportive classroom community will benefit each child as they are exposed to storytelling, poetry, dramatic play and so much more!  Through exploration of patterns in math, art, music, nature, blocks and other materials, your early learner will develop fine motor and self-help skills.

Pre-School Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity and critical thinking skills. Based on 38 objectives for development and learning, these objectives are aligned to the state early learning standards and integrated into each and every one of the comprehensive collection of resources that makes up the curriculum for preschool.

Our trained teachers can be confident that they are meeting important early learning standards every day, while b ringing their own creativity and expertise into daily planning. With opportunities to individualize instruction, this preschool curriculum surpasses many others.

Our older classrooms rotate through center activities with hands-on-fun in language, creative arts, math, science, sensory and plentiful outdoor experiences to support learning at the highest level as teachers guide in community-building, scientific discovery, literacy, basic math and so much more. Comfort with the written word, identifying letters and early literacy is just one goal as children work towards mastery in basic pre-reading skills. You will marvel at the progress your child achieves!
